When researching the different rates out there for car insurance, it's easy to become confused and to wonder what your best option is. There are many different types of policies, all with different coverage options, all with certain discounts. How can you choose the best auto insurance company to work with? While there are several factors that go into an insurance company determining exactly what your rates will be for a car insurance policy, one thing remains constant - discounts. Because of heated competition between the different companies, they are all offering significant discounts to drivers. The trick to choosing the best one for your car insurance is to find the one that caters to your demographic.
These companies have begun to specialize in a way. In other words, they are now targeting specific demographics of drivers in an attempt to separate themselves from the competition, for this demographic. Some companies give big discounts to women drivers who meet certain criteria. Other companies cater to young drivers under the age of twenty five. Some even cater to drivers under the age of 18. Some companies will offer tremendous discounts to those over 55 with clean driving records.
In order to find the best company for you and your specific demographic, use the greatest tool invented for finding cheap insurance of any kind - the internet. There are many insurance directories out there that will take your specific information and find the company that is offering the most discounts, therefore the lowest rates for you.

Want to know who has the best auto insurance rates? It should be as simple as making a few phone calls, right? Wrong, and that way of thinking could leave you paying a lot more than you should. However, there are a few tips and tricks to help you find the right insurance company with minimal effort and I'll show you how it's done.
Why shouldn't you just call a few local agents to find the best rate? Because it might costs you more than you think. There are two big problems with buying insurance this way. The first is that you are dealing with a commission driven insurance agent. It's not the typical commission structure that you might be use to when dealing with a normal salesman, it's actually worse. Many agents are paid by how much they can up sell you on policies you may not need. Forget the normal salesman trying to sell the loaded BMW when all you want is a Chevy, these guys want you to buy car with a houseboat attached to the back. The bigger your policy, the more they make and like most sale people, they probably have dollar signs in their eyes as soon as you walk through the door.
The second issue is that you might be missing out on an insurance company that isn't locally listed. Even if all of your phone number searches are done on the internet, a search for "car insurance Town A, Your State, USA" might not turn up results for the agent that is located in Town B, Your State, USA. So even if you find the "best deal in town" it might not be the best deal at all. Also keep in mind that local businesses often form an agreement with each other not to sell below a certain dollar value. So, they could potentially be gouging you without you even knowing it.
So how do you find out who has the best auto insurance rates? Well, the internet is loaded with companies that will compile a list of insurance companies that serve your state. Many times these list are organized by rate and incredibly easy to use. One example for me was after Tropical Storm "Faye" this past summer. My car was totaled by water damage and after my former insurance company paid for my car, they dropped me. While searching locally, I found that most of the rates for my car were about 10-15% higher then through the compiling website.

Everyone wants to find a way to save on their auto insurance policies. Some have found some ways, some do not believe they can make any significant savings. Getting affordable auto insurance is not as easy as you may think. Here I would so better than show you one way. I will discuss a few ways which would not only aid you in making huge savings but also give you an insight into discovering ways not included here for making more savings.
The first thing you need to understand is the type of coverage you need. Knowing this is very important if you would be able to make any significant progress in your search for cheap auto insurance.
If we are to assume that you have already made this decision, the next step would then be to compare quick auto insurance quotes. This is step is very vital. All you need to do is find a reputable quotes comparison site. An independent site is more to your advantage. You would find an online form. Fill it and you would receive quotes from several insurance companies. Visit between 4 and 5 comparison sites so you can get as many quotes as possible as this would greatly improve your chances of finding affordable auto insurance coverage.
Another important point you need to consider is the age of your car. The older your car, the less necessary it would be to have a comprehensive coverage for it. Only get a comprehensive and collision coverage for your car if it is either brand new of still valuable enough to warrant it. For older cars, just get the required amount of coverage because getting a comprehensive coverage would mean paying premiums which when combined with your deductible would amount to much more than your car is worth.
Your next option to increase your savings is to increase your deductible. Your deductible is the amount you would be required to pay before your insurer settles your claim. It would interest you that if you can raise your deductible from say $250 to %1000, you would make up to a 50% savings. The higher your savings, the lower your rates would be.
You can find out the amount you would get in discounts if you get multiple policies from an insurance company. If the savings you would make is better than what you would get if you got your policies different insurers, then you go ahead with it.
The safer your car, the more savings you can make. Earn safety discounts with air bags, anti-lock brakes on your car.
You can also get a security discount if you can install security gadgets like anti-theft systems, car alarms etc
Your insurer is not likely to willingly inform you of all the discounts you can qualify for. Be sure you ask your insurance company specifically for the available discounts.
Do not forget to get and compare free online car insurance quote.
